The Times-News, Times-News Mini-Cassia and Magicvalley.com connect people with their communities. Bringing local news to south-central Idaho, the Times-News and the Times-News Mini-Cassia edition is an award-winning news organization headquartered in Twin Falls. Its online arm is Magicvalley.com. The Twin Falls News was first published in October 1904, soon after the Twin Falls Irrigation Tract was opened for settlement. About a year later, a competitor, the Twin Falls Times hit the streets. In 1937, the News was sold to the publishers of the Times. The two papers were published separately until 1942 when they were consolidated into one afternoon paper. In 1961 the paper was purchased by a Minnesota company and then in 1968, by Howard Publications. In 1970, the Times-News moved into its present location. In April 2002, the newspaper was purchased by Lee Enterprises, its present owner. A Saturday edition was added in 1978 making it a seven-day-a-week paper and at the same time converting to a morning publication. The Times-News currently publishes 20,000 copies each weekday and 24,000 on Sunday which are read by more than 50,000 Magic Valley residents every day. Additionally our website, magicvalley.com averages 209,000 unique visitors each month and nearly 2 million page views each month. Our print and online readers combine to give us the largest audience than any time in our long history. This makes us bullish about our future as the premier and predominant providers of information in the Magic Valley.
